SME Directory – Lower Thames Crossing

7th January 2021
Paul Brooks

Highways England is supporting SMEs interested in working on the Lower Thames Crossing.

Your business can play a crucial role in delivering the most ambitious road project in the UK in almost 35 years.

The SME Directory is a list of businesses like yours, with a description of what sets you apart and why major contractors should select you as part of their supply chain. It will be given to main contractors so they can easily see and contact local businesses with the skills and services needed to deliver the project. With your permission, we will also share with other Highways England programmes that may be looking to build supply chains.

Please submit your company’s details into the SME Directory here

As well as being included in the SME directory, you can also build skills and knowledge, using the free training and resources from the project’s partnership with the Supply Chain School.

Stay up to date with progress and new opportunities

It is also important that SMEs (and companies of all sizes) register their interest on the Highways England procurement portal, Bravo, so they can:

  • Stay updated on the progress of the project, and receive information at the same time as everyone else who has registered interest
  • Get ready for when tenders go out
  • Provide their insight and opinions into the market engagement process, as it’s useful to hear information from some of the contractors who will actually be undertaking the works

We are developing a range of tools, guidance and workshops to support SMEs and local businesses that may be seeking opportunities to work as part of the Lower Thames Crossing supply chain. Our aim for this work is to develop local business and SME capabilities and skills to bid for work on the Lower Thames Crossing and other future infrastructure contracts. We will post updates about opportunities to get involved through BravoTwitter, Facebook and the Lower Thames Crossing website in the future.
