Bakerwell are a highly qualified, dedicated experienced team and take pride in our friendly, communicative service, delivering professional reports at a reasonable cost, whatever the size of your project. At Bakerwell we believe that the best projects have the best teams, therefore we also collaborate with trusted providers in related disciplines, such as arboriculture, landscape architecture and geotechnical services, to provide a complete project package where this may be an advantage to you, reducing the time you spend on project management.

Bakerwell’s planning advice and report services include Ecological Assessment (EA), Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIA) and Habitat Regulation Assessments (HRA). Our preliminary site assessments help you to predict project costs and can be carried out prior to committing to land purchase. We provide European protected species surveys; including bat surveys, bird surveys, dormouse surveys and great created newt surveys, we also undertake national protected species surveys including badger, water vole and reptile surveys. Our habitat surveys include Phase 1 Habitat Assessments and National Vegetation Classification (NVC) surveys.

All reports are prepared following recognised guidance, including the British Standard BS42020 Biodiversity. This includes clear recommendations for ecological mitigation, compensation and enhancements, where appropriate. With over a decade of experience in environmental consultancy, Bakerwell’s Directors take a pragmatic, well-communicated and proportional approach to each project. We will ensure you remain compliant with all ecology legislation, wildlife laws and the national planning policy framework while delivering desirable sustainable projects. Once planning is achieved Bakerwell continue to provide support to meet post-planning condition clearance. This includes obtaining European Protected Species Mitigation Licences, liaising with consultees such as Natural England and translocation and monitoring of protected species and habitats.
