From Pepperoni to Property: Rap Interiors Re-Imagines Pizza Restaurant

COVID-19 has brought about many changes to our lives and towns. Not only are working practices changing, but once popular shops and restaurants are sadly leaving our high streets.

In Maidstone, Pizza Hut closed its doors for good last year amid the coronavirus health crisis. Having been located in a prime spot at The Mall, it had been a buzzing restaurant, but now it is set to take on a different look. The property has been acquired by estate agency Knight Edmonds, with its seven-employee team moving in from the end of October. Co-owners Alex Knight and Sam Edmonds were recently featured on Kent online showing off the site, which is currently undergoing the fit out.

Fit out and refurbishment company Rap Interiors has been tasked with re-imagining the space. With an in-house design team, the Maidstone-based firm has devised a new space plan and aesthetic that will help to set Knight Edmonds apart from other estate agents. Unlike a traditional estate agent design, the open plan space will have a coffee machine and a kitchen, while the staff will be at the back of the building. This will help to create a welcoming feel that will help customers to relax and make visiting the estate agents a pleasurable experience.

Rick Anderson, Rap Interiors’ managing director, comments: “As a Maidstone-based company, we’re delighted to be designing a space in such a well-known location. It’s been a pleasure working with the guys at Knight Edmonds to devise a concept that will help their business and bring something new and different to the town centre. The space will undoubtedly be a positive addition to Maidstone and we can’t wait to see the company open its doors to the public!”

Indeed, the next time you go shopping in Maidstone, keep an eye out for the funky new estate agent in The Mall. While you might not be able to get a pizza, you’ll certainly be able to pop in for a posh coffee and a chat about property!
