Opportunities For The Supply Chain – Lower Thames Crossing “Meet The Bidder” Event

17th January 2024
Paul Brooks

The Lower Thames Crossing is one of the UK’s biggest and most important infrastructure projects, with opportunities for thousands of local businesses and staff. The delivery team is assembled and ready to go, with a planned construction start date of 2026.

As the UK’s greenest road, we’re exploring carbon neutral construction and buying six million kilograms of hydrogen, the largest ever purchase by a UK transport project. This exciting new fuel source will be used by the project, and the infrastructure and skills developed will help create a new hydrogen ecosystem in the Thames Estuary and support the UK’s transition to Net Zero.

We have shortlisted three bidders to supply low carbon hydrogen for the programme, however there may be opportunities for a broader supply chain and businesses to support the delivery of the solution.

We therefore invite you to join us on 7th February, where you’ll have a chance to learn more about the scheme, our hydrogen ambitions and how you and your business could get involved, along with the chance to “meet the bidder”, as we are joined by our three shortlisted bidders.
